About the "Crowded Table"

A Note from Poppy

After working on two musicals and as the Executive Director of an established songwriting organization, I came to the realization just how difficult it can be to find committed collaborators. Many people set up a business and sell their skill sets as professionals of whatever it is they believe they are professionals in. What's missing? A sense of commitment to truly seeing a project through with warmth, humility, loyalty, flexibility, openness and quite honestly fulfillment of the actual job you've invested in. I steer away from the word "professional." I'm constantly learning which is what makes my style so desirable for those looking for that extra team member to contribute or lead projects with creativity and dedication. A consummate hostess, I believe in creating a space people want to show up in both physically and emotionally. Find a cozy spot and let's create together!

"Working alongside Poppy Peach-Nichols as the director of West Coast Songwriters has been an inspiring journey. Her passion for music and dedication to fostering creativity have left an indelible mark on our team. Poppy has not only steered the ship with remarkable leadership but has also created an environment where every songwriter feels valued and encouraged. Poppy's unwavering commitment to the craft has elevated the organization, making it a hub for aspiring and seasoned songwriters alike. Poppy possesses a rare blend of musical insight, organizational prowess, and a genuine appreciation for the diverse voices within our community. Beyond the professional realm, Poppy brings a contagious enthusiasm that turns even the most challenging projects into rewarding endeavors. Her leadership style is not just about achieving goals; it's about creating an atmosphere where creativity thrives and individuals flourish. In summary, Poppy Peach-Nichols has been an exceptional director and friend. Her impact on West Coast Songwriters extends far beyond the notes on this page - it resonates in the harmonies of collaboration, the cadence of creativity growth, and the melody of shared passion. I feel fortunate to have worked alongside such a remarkable individual."

"Working with Poppy was a pleasure. She has the right combination of intelligence and optimism and knows how to get things done. Her attention to detail while having a grasp of the big picture is a rare combination. I don't hesitate in recommending Poppy. If you want to accomplish your goals and have fun doing it then Poppy is for you."

"Poppy is a wonderful Woman Friday (she's not "girl"). She is intuitive and visionary and able to listen and intuit what a project needs; make suggestions, research, encourage and connect the right people to the right time and place. This is all done with a sense of joy and genuine commitment to the art and heart of her project partners. Without Poppy, I never would have been able to stage a successful musical in New York nor get a second musical staged and published. She has a gift and is a gift."

"I had the pleasure of meeting Poppy Peach-Nichols through the West Coast Songwriters organization where she was the Executive Director. She is very professional, has outstanding people skills, and has the innate ability to coordinate events. Ms. Nichols is always positive and inspiring. She knows how to bring out the best of people by focusing on people's strengths. Through empathy and collaboration she creates a safe environment for creativity. I am very grateful for all the work she has done for our music community."

"Zuccotti Park" & "Rumpelstiltskin the Game of the Name"

"When I wrote the musical, Zuccotti Park, I knew I needed a talented musician to complete the project. I found that person in Vatrena King, whose inspired music brought the play to life. Vatrena suggested that we find someone practically minded, with organizational skills to help pull the project together. We found that person in Poppy Peach, who was instrumental in getting songs recorded, creating a social media presence and website, organizing fundraisers, and finding a venue to stage the musical as a reading. Poppy did all of this in spades, which led to an award winning production in New York City Theater Festival, a production in  FringeNYC, and in Raleigh, NC. For all of these performances, Poppy arranged flights, lodgings, and coordinated schedules. Poppy took on the same role for another of our musicals, Rumpelstiltskin the Game of the Name. With her help, Rumpelstiltskin was produced and staged in Northern California, where it received several theater awards , and was later published in Los Angeles by YouthPLAYS. Poppy is intuitive, receptive, proactive, and a genius at organization. I heartily recommend her as the missing piece for any artists striving to bring their project to fruition."

"I had the pleasure of working with Poppy at the West Coast Songwriters Event for several years. Her dedication to running this event and everyone who took part always went above and beyond expectations. Supporting all those attending who were passionate about learning and furthering their career while making sure all of us mentors and teachers were looked after no matter what the needs. She has always been an amazing communicator, bringing a sense of belonging to anyone she meets, and quite possibly the nicest and most positive and supportive person I have had the pleasure to know and work with. She did such an amazing job running WCS and I know she will bring the same dedication and drive to her new venture."
